Thriving Communities Aotearoa
Thriving Communities Aotearoa is a coalition of organisations working together to achieve better outcomes for people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, economic harm.
Thriving Customers, Thriving Communities
We believe that all customers should have safe, empathetic and fair access to essential services*

Unfortunately, for customers who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing economic harm, this is often not case.
Economic harm is rarely a single event—it’s a complex, cumulative experience shaped by systems that restrict, exploit, or erode a person’s access to financial resources. Those affected often face overlapping barriers: disrupted employment, limited access to essential services, unsafe housing, education or constrained mobility.
The simple question we pose is ... how might we collectively address systems, processes and services in order to create better outcomes for those experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, economic harm?

Thriving Communities Aotearoa is a coalition who want to act
Join our coalition
How might we collectively address systems, processes and services within essential service organisations in order to create better outcomes for those experiencing economic harm?
We're forming a solution design coalition to tackle economic harm by asking the big question, 'how might we get better outcomes for customers experiencing or at risk of experiencing economic harm?'
The Thriving Communities Aotearoa coalition purpose is to co-design solutions across different sectors, alongside people with lived and learned experience.
We invite those businesses providing essential services (banking, insurance, telco, energy, water and their credit agencies) to join the coalition and create better outcomes for their customers.
